About

Spatial light modulation refers to the control and manipulation of light waves in a spatially varying manner. This technology allows for the precise modulation of the intensity, phase, polarization, and wavelength of light at different points across a given area. Spatial light modulators are used in a variety of applications such as in optical imaging, telecommunications, holography, and adaptive optics. These devices can be implemented using liquid crystal displays, digital micromirror devices, and acousto-optic modulators, among others. The ability to selectively modulate light in this way enables the creation of advanced optical systems with unique functionalities and capabilities.
